SLA Battery Recycling Program

• Only sealed lead acid batteries (Pb) are accepted under the program
• Lithium batteries (Li) may not be sent under the program. This includes all variations of lithium batteries (lithium metal [lithium primary], lithium-ion, lithium-cobalt oxide, lithium-manganese oxide, lithium-iron phosphate, lithium-nickel manganese cobalt oxide, lithium nickel cobalt aluminum oxide, lithium-titanate, etc…)
• Tip to identify battery types: Sealed lead acid batteries have the Pb symbol. Lithium batteries will have a Li symbol.

• Cardboard should be placed on the base of the skid
• Remove all attachments from batteries including cables, fuses, connectors etc.
• Terminals should be taped
• Batteries should be stacked upright with terminals facing up on the pallet
• Batteries shall be stacked on the pallet with cardboard between the layers to protect the terminals
• Battery and cardboard layers shall not be stacked higher than 3 feet on the pallet
• Cardboard shall be placed on the top of the top layer of batteries to protect the terminals
• Entire pallet shall be wrapped in shrink wrap making sure to overlap the shrink wrap around the side of the pallet to secure the load to the pallet and ensure the batteries are safe for transport
• Pallet may be banded with PLASTIC strapping. METAL strapping may not be used on a battery pallet.
• Batteries can also be placed in boxes/gaylords on a pallet following the same guidelines above for having cardboard below the first layer, between each layer of batteries and on top of the top layer, being stacked no higher than three feet

• Recycler arranges and pays for shipment of accumulated units/batteries to CoastTec
• The minimum number of skids recycler can ship to CoastTec
• When ready for shipment email Thomas Dock ([email protected]) and provide material being shipped (UPS recycling or battery recycling), number of skids, dims (l x w x h of each skid) and gross and net weight of entire shipment, and an estimated delivery date for the shipment to CoastTec
• CoastTec will produce a purchase order for the shipment and email to the contact person

Every shipment received goes through a triage process at CoastTec and reconciliation shows disposition and weight

CoastTec will issue a reconciliation report with total weight of UPS recycling or battery recycling and total dollar amount

CoastTec will request an invoice from contact and invoice should be emailed to Samantha Hodge ([email protected])

CoastTec payment terms are NET 30, company check

Recycler shall provide a physical addresses and corresponding accounting/billing addresses
